Cosmetic Dentistry

Dentistry is no longer just about a healthy set of teeth. Nowadays having a great looking set of teeth is highly desirable, so more and more people are turning to cosmetic dentistry, or aesthetic dentistry in order to improve their smile.

What Can Cosmetic Dentistry Improve?

Treatments can be chosen or combined for a great many reasons, including:

  • Colour – making the teeth whiter, lighter or more even coloured
  • Evenness – creating a smooth, even smile line
  • Gaps – filling any missing teeth with a natural-looking replacement
  • Crooked teeth
  • Damaged or broken teeth

For many patients, there is also a significant boost to how they feel – happy to smile and no longer self-conscious about their teeth.

Tooth Whitening

The quickest and cheapest way to lift the look of your teeth, professional bleaching is the most common form of tooth whitening.

Your dentist will apply the whitening product to your teeth, using a specially made tray which fits into your mouth like a gum-shield.

The ‘active ingredient’ in the product is usually hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. As the active ingredient is broken down, oxygen gets into the enamel on the teeth and the tooth colour is made lighter.

Once your dentist has started this treatment you may be given the trays to take home and continue the treatment, or you may need more appointments at the dentist’s. This treatment can be done within 3 to 4 weeks, depending on how long you keep the trays in your mouth each time, and how much whiter you want your teeth to be.

Important – tooth whitening shouldn’t be seen as a quick fix. It is important that the health of the teeth and mouth is considered as a primary priority. That’s why all tooth whitening at The Smart Clinics is carried out by fully qualified dental practitioners and only after a consultation and review of the patient’s suitability.

Veneers are precisely custom-made porcelain ‘covers’ which are fitted and permanently bonded over the visible surface of your front teeth.

A wide variety of unsightly and unhealthy dental conditions can be corrected by having veneers, including:

  • discoloured or stained teeth
  • chipped teeth
  • cracked teeth
  • gaps (e.g. between front teeth)
  • misshapen teeth
  • rotated/twisted teeth

Veneers can look beautiful, strong and natural. However, there is an art in ensuring that they are the right proportions for your mouth and not overly bright – certain celebrities have arguably taken dental perfection to the extreme.

Our experienced team will discuss with you what you are trying to achieve and advise on the best course of action.

At The Smart Clinics, we only use the highest quality porcelain veneers to create a stunning but natural-looking end result.

Porcelain veneers require minimal preparation to your existing teeth but, when fixed in place, are strong and long-lasting, transforming your smile for years to come. Our skilled dental team will meticulously prepare and fit your veneers once they have carried out an extensive smile consultation and fully understand your hopes for your smile. The quality of our veneers is of the highest standard and this treatment option really can transform your appearance, giving you a gorgeous smile and igniting your confidence.

Wouldn’t you like the confidence of knowing you have a beautiful natural smile?

White Fillings
At The Smart Clinics our experience has told us that the majority of our patients are in favour of amalgam free, tooth coloured fillings. Advances in dentistry have led to improved alternative materials to amalgam, resulting in a more natural smile.

Safety is our main concern when conducting dental amalgam removal. We want, at all times, to keep the exposure to amalgam to a minimum. Therefore we follow a strict protocol.

After amalgam removal we place a white filling, porcelain inlay or crown. This will be discussed with you during the initial consultation.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding involves the artistic use of highly aesthetic white filling materials to change the shape and sometimes shade of teeth.

Bonding can repair chips, rebuild worn teeth, close gaps and cover discoloration.

It’s best used for less drastic changes but small changes often make a huge difference!

Dentistry Payment Scheme

The Smart Clinics now offers a payment/finance scheme for dentistry procedures.

Patient Feedback

The clinic provides great services and is a pleasant environment. Georgia has been really kind, always helpful, whether it was at the practice or over the phone.

As for the dentist, Dr Vila has been doing an amazing job. His kindness and good mood helped me to feel comfortable whenever I was at the practice. I received the answers to all my questions whenever I needed, which was really helpful.

I am more than happy with the job that has been done. My teeth look so much better than they used to and I am more confident when I smile now. Thank you so much!
